The seven classic early warning signs of cancer, which can be remembered by the acronym CAUTION, are the following:
  • Change in bowel or bladder habits.
  • A sore that does not heal.
  • Unusual bleeding or discharge.
  • Thickening or lump in breast or elsewhere.
  • Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing.
  • Obvious change in a wart or mole.
  • Nagging cough or hoarseness.
The good news is that with increasing information and treatment methods available today, millions of people are either living with, or have been cured of, cancer and the risk of developing most types of cancer can be reduced by adopting a healthy lifestyle.  What about the cost of cancer?
